Javier Ortega ist der leitende Partner des Büros Madrid und auch der Leiter der Abteilung für Immobilien- und Finanzrecht. Er hat 20 Jahre Berufserfahrung und hat sich auf Transaktionen betreffend vor allem Gewerbeimmobilien (vorwiegend bezüglich Bürogebäude, Retail, logistischer Lagerhäuser, Hotels oder turistischer Resorts einschliesslich grösserer sale & lease back Transaktionen) sowie auf Raumordnung, strukturierte Immobilienfinanzierung und Hypothekenrecht (einschliesslich des Erwerbs von NPLs, der Refinanzierung und der Umstrukturierung von mit Immobilien verbundenen Verbindlichkeiten), gewerbliche Mietverträge, Baurecht und Luftfahrtrecht spezialisiert. Bevor er sich sdh anschloss, Javier Ortega arbeitete für Bruckhaus Westrick (Vienna), Uría y Menéndez (Madrid), Cuatrecasas (Madrid) als Partner für Immobilienrecht und Herbert Smith Freehills (Madrid) als Partner und Leiter der Abteilung für Immobilienrecht. Seit vielen Jahren hat Javier laufende Anerkennung in den führenden Anwaltsverzeichnissen (einschliesslich EMEA Legal 500 und Chambers Europe) gefunden.

 

Er hat häufig am GRI oder im Verband Deutscher Hypothekenbanken zu Berlin referiert und Vorträge abgehalten sowie Seminare in Deutschland über spanisches Hypotheken- und Finanzrecht für zahlreiche deutsche und österreichische Banken abgehalten.

 

Javier hat einen Juraabschluss von der Universidad Complutense von Madrid, einen Juraabschluss von der Universität Wien, einen Philosophieabschluss von der Universidad de Navarra (Spanien) und ein Doktorat in Jura von der Universität Wien.

Javier Ortega is the partner heading the Madrid office’s real estate and finance practice. With more than 20 years of experience in real estate he is specialized in transactions regarding above all commercial property (with a special focus on office buildings, retail, logistic premises, hotels and touristic resorts including large sale & lease back transactions), town planning, structured property finance and mortgage law (including sale of NPLs, refinancing and restructuring of property debt), Spanish REITs (Socimis), commercial leases, construction law, as well as in aviation law. 

Prior to joining sdh Javier Ortega worked at Bruckhaus Westrick (Vienna), Uría y Menéndez (Madrid) and, as partner in the RE department, at Cuatrecasas (Madrid) and Herbert Smith Freehills (Madrid) as head of the RE department.

Since many years Javier has received ongoing recognition in the leading legal directories, including EMEA Legal 500 and Chambers Europe.

He has often spoken at venues like the GRI or the Verband Deutscher Hypothekenbanken in Berlin (the German Association of Mortgage Banks) and has held seminars in Germany on Spanish mortgage and finance law for many German banks.
